| TIPS FOR PARENTS ABOUT HOMEWORK Be consistent about doing homework every day. When there is little or no homework, find out if it was completed in school or forgotten. If done in school, have your child bring it home for you to check. Provide a quiet, well lit study area at home. Designate a daily homework time, preferably in the afternoon or early evening. Utilize the M.O.O.S.E. books that are provided by the teacher for organizational and informational purposes. Supervise the homework time, going over the completed work. Provide assistance when needed. Call a friend for help if necessary. PRAISE your child for the work he/she has done. Meet with the teacher early in the year before problems arise. Talk with your child about school and everyday events. Showing a genuine interest in your child's education will encourage the idea that education is important! |
